Hello....so, I am going with two friends to Europe this summer. We are three females traveling together and will be going to the following cities:
London, Paris, Brugges, Brussels, Amsterdam, Interlaken, Venice, Milan, Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Seville, Madrid

I have seen alot of people suggest websites for you to check out the accomodations but I'm looking for something more specific. I want to hear about specific hostels in these areas that people would recommend or not recommend and why. This will be my first experience with hostels and so any advice would help. There are just so many and I don't think you can always trust the online images that make them all look so inviting.

Thanks.

I stayed at the White Tulip in Amsterdam and really enjoyed it. It's very central, very young, kind of alternative and very, very friendly runned!!!!!!

Rome: we stayed in a hotel called I think Hotel Campo di Fiore. Very very nice but they were doing major renovations at the time so perhaps the cheap rate we got has gone up in the past two years. It had a full kitchen so we could do our cooking there and a separate sleeping area. We slept 5 in the room comfortably.

Florence: Hotel Balcony was good and a reasonable price.

Milan: Hotel Flora, a little more pricey but near the train station.

Venice: Not a good stay in Hotel Al Vagon. I found it was not very clean and the bathroom arrangement was strange... we were showering next to the toilet with no curtain between.

Hope this helps.

In Rome, I love Hotel Des Artistes. It is close to the train station and has a roof terrace. www.bugeurope.com is a really great resource for finding hostels and reading travelers reviews.

We stayed at the Picadilly Backpackers Hotel in downtown London a few years ago. It was a lot of fun and was RIGHT in the middle of Picadilly Square. Can't get any better than that for location and price.

If you're going to be traveling in a group, you might want to try an apartment as your money generally goes further. I've tried this company before and were very impressed Holiday Velvet

Also try the Hostels Alessandro in Rome, it's a great place.
