Chivalry Johan Phoea Post Count: 3 Msg: #3 440 days ago, April 22nd 2007 | hi ailee | i'm thinking sudan is one of the countries you are planning to visit.. what i'd think would suffice in place of the invitation letter is a letter from your embassy.. i couldn't get my ethiopian visa in khartoum cos they only issue visa to sudan residents.. but i went to my embassy in khartoum and asked for a letter.. and it worked wonders.. and i managed to get to ethiopia.. which was a great trip not to be missed really.. hope this helps cheers Rohnert77 Robert Park Post Count: 5 Msg: #4 421 days ago, May 12th 2007 | Hi Ailee, | Think about this, every country wants tourists to visit their country, its usually good for their economy. They will not reject you application just because you do not know anyone there and cannot get an invitation letter. The whole idea is that they want to make sure that if you know someone there, they want to know about it. It helps if you are a genuine traveler or you have some other motive like getting in the country for immigration reasons or other unlawful activity. Its always good to be truthful and declare if you know someone. BOTTOM LINE: If you have a return/onward journey ticket, have a job/business in your parent country (they may ask for letter from employer), hotel reservation etc .. reflects your intention to be a genuine tourist. They may in cases ask for your bank statement. Also call their nearest visa center to clarify if you want.
