I am travelling to Prague with my family this summer and I am considering which hotel to select and where can I find the best rates on the internet. I am looking for a 3 star hotel near the historical center of Prague. I came across this
Prague Hotel site which looks professional and offers quite big selection of hotels and apartments. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel there?

I stayed in a very good hotel in central Prague that used to be a prison. It is split into hotel (the old offices) and hostel (the old prison cells). Excellent location, clean and comfortable. Good pubs nearby too. Website is at www.unitas.cz

Be careful of some places offering apartments in Prague - My sister and I nearly froze to death when we were there last year in Jan! The apartments were central heated and this only ran between 09:00 - 20:00... when it was -20 outside this was not good!!! We stayed here. But they arranged for a nice guy to pick us up from the airport for about £12 and gave us the key etc you then pay the cost of the apartment to him and then he takes you to the airport when you leave... it was just too cold for us so that was the only thing wrong with it! and no one to call or ask them to turn heating on in the middle of the nite as once frank leaves you're on ur own!

If you are taking your family, choose a holiday apartment. Its fine because you can stay together but children can have own room. Depends where you want to stay but very nice place are these apartments at street called karlova in old town, close to river and charles bridge. The apartment I saw was duplex with 2 bedrooms, there was LCD TV in living room, equipped kitchen and washing machine below stairs.

Hello,

In case you are looking for a hotel in Prague - I can recommend you a website that really works good!: Prague Hotel Directory www.prague-hotel-hostel-directory.com You will come into contact with a Travel agency that really proved professional and helpful!

You can put in a request and expect an answer back within 1 day - Good thing is that they answer your request personally, and can organize any small extra’s you may wish (room with a wheelchair for example). They will offer you the price for the room you request - or a good alternative - we had to pay 86 Euros/room for our hotel, upon arrival at the hotel, price at the reception was 119 Euros! (so they do their work well!). We also had some problems with our flight - and we were able to change the reservation, Free of charge! (it was about 4 days in advance) - after some experience with online systems, they often charge a handling fee or booking charge!

Next to that - we also ordered opera tickets, and had them delivered to our hotel - very good service and really recommend this way of booking your hotel!

Be very careful of this company Apartments they have a very bad habit of overcharging inocent tourists visiting Prague, there are far more reputable campanies to choose from.

Hello!
Let me highly recommend to all agency www.homesweethome.cz from Prague. They have about 250 apartments, mostly in the centre of the city for reasonable prices - they have also discounts for longer stays... There work young and very helpful guys, speaking english, spanish, italy, etc... and I am pretty sure they will do everything for you... ;-)
