Greece, Netherlands, england, and maybe Ireland. I was wondering if anyone had any sujestion on what hostels are best, (we are looking for twin or double bed private rooms, no dorms) what good brand names are for packs, ideas of where the nicest cities are, we have some extra time to fit in some other places. If anyone has any good ideas i would love to hear about them. | thanks a bunch. I recommend you go check this out as it is very popular and helpful. I also found B&B's were great if you're looking for private rooms, very cost effective too. | I'd check out <spam> if you're looking for ideas + they provide info on cheap airline tickets and accomodation. Good luck! Some big chains are The Generator, St Christopher's Inns Oasis Backpackers, of course there are many more but It will take me a while to write them all down. At HostelBookers you also are able to see different info about guides, travel news and events worldwide that might help you out. Hope this helps, Nele10 Ruth from Wales Ruth John Post Count: 73 Msg: #5 461 days ago, February 10th 2007 | Hi Emma, | That sounds like a great trip. Hostels are certainly the best way to go in Europe, as hotels can be expensive. To be honest the best idea is get a few guide books (e.g. Rough Guide and Lonely Planet). This is the way I usually pick my accommodation and have rarely experienced a problem so far. When you ask for good brand names of packs, do you mean rucksacks? If so, in the UK Karrimor is a good make and their stuff is usually available much cheaper than other brands. A shop called Mountain Warehouse in Covent Garden, London has a good selection! Be careful about the number of stars and you'll not be surprised (forget the on star hotel which have no toilet in the bedroom).
