And has anyone stayed in Vietnam after their passport expired...mines is only valid for 2 weeks and I'm not sure if that's enough. Where ever you are now - get yourself to an embassy and get a new passport. Now the nice bit!  There are so many great places to visit in Vietnam that are on the tourist track, my visa of 1 month (february so 28 days) was only just long enough to get from one end to the other. Halong bay is spectacular, Hoi An an amazing old city (you'll probably end up buying more suits and clothes than you can carry!), Mui Ne has some magnificant sand dunes... I went from highlighted place to highlighted place in the Lonely Planet and was very happy with my experience there...What type of attractions do you like the most? diving, treking, architecture, history, beach? Hoi An was our favourite place, although it is popular with tourists. If Passport, then cancel the trip and get a new one. If visa then ask around if you can extend it in Vietnam (don't know myself) and if not and you want to stay longer than planned then get a longer one before you go.
