Trish B Just Trish Post Count: 3 Msg: #1 709 days ago, September 29th 2006 | I'm planning on traveling through Vietnam next week, does anyone know of any great places that are off the tourist track? And has anyone stayed in Vietnam after their passport expired...mines is only valid for 2 weeks and I'm not sure if that's enough. Can you just pay to extend it while you're there? | Ali Ali Watters Post Count: 2847 Msg: #2 709 days ago, September 29th 2006 | > Vietnam after their passport expired...mines is only valid for 2 weeks | Hold it there! - you probably won't be allowed to enter the country - if you leave the country you are in now they probably won't let you back in.... you could be in quiet a mess. Where ever you are now - get yourself to an embassy and get a new passport. Now the nice bit! What type of attractions do you like the most? diving, treking, architecture, history, beach? Hoi An was our favourite place, although it is popular with tourists. If Passport, then cancel the trip and get a new one. If visa then ask around if you can extend it in Vietnam (don't know myself) and if not and you want to stay longer than planned then get a longer one before you go. With that said, Vietnam lately seems to be the one place where people are quite happy to leave, and usually do before they had planned to do so. | V [Edited: 13:25 - VictorT - Grammar correction] Number of Users: 4 | Number of Posts: 4 | ||||||||||||
