a friend who had been there told me that bank machines is not an option there, and that form some wierd reason western union only take transfers from the US.
he said you need to bring cash..
can anyone back this up?
if thats the case how much cash should budget daily?
and assuming i can only buy cuban pesos in cuba, what currency is the best one to bring?
Reply to this Hello Matty 😊
You dont necessarily have to bring cash, but be careful that your credit cards, travellers cheques etc do not come from a US bank. If they do, they may not be usable in Cuba. This is the problem we had there.
US dollars are a good type of cash to bring. They are sometimes used instead of Pesos in Cuba.
If you get unlucky enough to need cash wired to you from another country, have it wired in a currency other than US dollars.
The problem is that the US were Boycotting Cuba and probably still are, so with any type of money other than cash you could possilby have problems. Some credit cards issued outside the US belong to US banks.
