Well, its recently come available as part of what I could potentially do, to take a few months in Japan. Its something I\'ve wanted to do a while, and I\'ve started learning Japanese. I\'m not going in the near future though, two years away in fact, since I recently got accepted for a college course. I\'m 17 now, and I\'ll be 19 when I intend to leave. My current plans are to learn Japanese, and work out more nitty-gritty stuff like air travel, accomodation and stuff like that, nearer the time. Maybe half a year in advance. Plenty of time to worry and freak hehe. When I get there, I\'m going to stay for several months, to integrate with the culture, further my fluency (At least I oughta be by then) And make friends and join in with the culture. I intend to crash at Tokyo.
Basically, what I\'m after is if anyone has suggestions, support, advice, what Japan is like, what factors I should take into account in a long term stay, or even possible someone to join me for the trip, or better yet, someone at the other end willing to hold up a sign with my name at the airport, to help me out! :D
My plans so far are very vague, but its in serious consideration, and given how much time I have due to college, I wanna get it right.
I\'ll be getting a job, probably renting somewhere, and doing those such things.

Any help/support much appreciated! ^.^

Hi Corwin, there is a wealth of info that can answer your questions on the net... if you make google your friend! try searching something like 'life in tokyo' or 'living and working in tokyo'...to get you started. then if you have other more specific questions try posting them here and it will be easier to give you some pointers! wow, moving to japan - a big exciting decision for you! good luck :)
