It has been a life long wish of mine to see Tibet, But I'd like to travel as responsibly as possible.
I'd like my money to end up in the pockets of the Tibetans, not the Chinese.
Traveling on my own seems not an option, so I'm willing to join a group. Does anybody know what the best way is to go about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi, taking a join-in tour is a good idea because it is to save your tour cost. Especially, the tour cost in Tibet is more expensive than other cities in China. There are some web I found for your reference. There are join-in tour that might be to meet your demands.

Or just contact China local travel agency to see if there is the tourists who has the same interest as you.

Happen to see this post.

Maps of China, please check the history of China.
Which map indicate Tibet is/was a independent country?

(Note: see the Xikang Province in the map. Tibet is bigger than it was before PRC)

I think it's normal for one to live anywhere in his country. Americans can live in Hawaii(Native Hawaiian is a minority in Hawaii, needless to say Native Indian in US mainland) , also can live in New York. Chinese can live in anywhere(Tibetans can also live in Beijing etc). Here, I want to mention that Chinese are not equal to Han. Chinese are comprised of 56 ethnics, such as Han, Hui, Manchu, Tibetan, Miao, Bai, Dai, Mongolian..........

I also think Chinese should protect the Tibetan unique culture. But I think it's difficult to find a balance point between the modernizing and the protecting the tradition.

Some one does not like Chinese gov. I think it's normal. I also disagree some policies of Chinese gov. No one gov can satisfy its every people.

I do not like those foreigners who break Chinese law (The Anti-Secession Law). If someone breaks Chinese law in China, they should be punished. gov.

Thank you, friends! Enjoy China, Enjoy Tibet! Good luck!

Hello INTBI

I have been told by somebody who supports freedom for Tibet, that http://www.tibetfit.com/ is an agency that you could consider.
