idoia idoia sesumaga Post Count: 6 Msg: #1 140 days ago, June 22nd 2009 | We are traveling this september from spain to usa, starting from NY and Niagara Falls. | From Buffalo we want to take an internal fly to west coast and we are coming back from SFO. We have two weeks to expend on the west coast, We are not sure were to fly to, which it would be the best option?. We want to rent a car to do our tour. We were thinking to see the gran cayon, Las vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, The death valley and San Francisco driving though the 17 miles drive. If someone could help me, giving me some ideas which it is the best route to do everything, maybe to add o taking off places from our list. Also, we read in a guide that sometimes is not enough having the international driving licences to rent a car, but we are not sure what else we need to do for that. We are over 25 and we can use devit card to pay. Thank you in advange. As for routes, I would make a big loop - heading south through L.A to San Diego, cutting east through Phoenix Arizona before heading north to Grand Canyon, continuing to Las Vegas and then heading back through Death Valley on your way to San Francisco. You can check the requirements for renting a car online at the car rental websites, but generally as long as you have a credit card/debit card, passport and international drivers license (or a foreign drivers license written in English), you should be okay as long as you're over 25. idoia idoia sesumaga Post Count: 6 Msg: #3 138 days ago, June 24th 2009 | thank you very much for your help. We have 2 weeks to do all the route. Do you think we have time to see everything? We want to see as much as we can but in another way we want to do a relax trip, no getting crazy because we don't have enough time. | i love to travel Tejal Post Count: 7 Msg: #4 138 days ago, June 24th 2009 | I think you can comfortably cover LA, Vegas, Grand canyon, san Diego in 2 weeks. 2-3 days for Vegas and 1 day for Hoover dam and grand canyon is sufficient. | idoia idoia sesumaga Post Count: 6 Msg: #5 137 days ago, June 25th 2009 | Thank you Tejal. | What about San Francisco and the Death valley? What We are really wonder is the distance between places. i love to travel Tejal Post Count: 7 Msg: #6 133 days ago, June 29th 2009 | Hi Idoia, | SFO is about 400 miles from LA. May be you can stay there for one night. Drive from LA to SFO is very scenic and beautiful. There is the golden gate bridge, Alcatraz, Ghiradelli Square etc in SFO. Nice beaches around.. Death Valley National Park is about 300 miles from LA. While going to Vegas from LA you can spend a day at this park. If you are going to the Grand Canyon; Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park are an easy drive from there, and you can easily route north of Las Vegas to St. George and make your way to these parks before heading south to the Grand Canyon. | Also in AZ you won't want to miss the beautiful red rocks of Sedona - about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive south of the Grand Canyon, and a nice place to spend the night. You can often save money on your rental if you go outside the airport to get it. | Number of Users: 6 | Number of Posts: 9 | |||||||||||||||||
