Could anyone recommend Goa (or the opposite) and any specific parts of Goa? Plus, I'd appreciate any Goa info/facts/tips/opinions anyone could share. Cheers, Chris. See entire goa if u Have time. Its Tropical,its forested,its got great beaches , Great food and is very Laid Back and yes Budget travelers shudnt have problem coz Its has both Expensive and Inexpensive options. Just Like any other part of India... | U can reach there by Plane, train or bus .U can rent Bikes cheaply to travel around the state and U get cheap accomodation. I wud Say Must see. From what I have heard about it, it seems it would be a good place to rest for a couple of weeks for people travelling in India long term. The Whole of GOA is for Backpackers dude. Although for accomadation Calangute is cheap. And yeah bharatrentals.com is a place u can find accomadation.Its a good site thru which I found cheap accomadation in Goa{calangute}. | 2} Yeah Bombay is Easy route. Also Bangalore . U get train bus and planes from these two cities. But yeah Bombay is Easiest I wud Say. 3} Just Google it. I wud say the first few search results are reliable.. Yeah, I think that is the closest and least expensive airport to fly into. Then you can take a plane from the domestic airport to Goa. Or else you can take a night train or a night bus. 3 - Also any links to good Goa websites I dont know any specific sites, but there are plenty of blogs about Goa, here on TravelBlog. Tanya_0608 Tanya Deshmukh Post Count: 136 Msg: #12 33 weeks ago, May 21st 2009 | Hi Chris, Goa is definitely recommend on a trip to India, its an extremely laid back place where all you want to do is lie on the beach and soak in the sun while sipping on beer. | However, if you are planning on taking a trip to Goa during the monsoons in India, I would not recommend it. Its wet and drizzling all the time, most shacks close and the beach is not safe for swimming. There are some ideal backpackers paradise in Goa, namely, Palolem and Arambol. These are quiet and peaceful and acco & food/booze here is very cheap too. Other places such a Baga/Calangute/Candolim/Anjuna are very nice too however a lot more commercial, quite crowded during season and far more a 'touristy' place. appro chris davies Post Count: 63 Msg: #13 33 weeks ago, May 21st 2009 | The more I read the more I like the idea. It will probably be the first stop on our trip, which will be in early October. This is right at the start of the season so hopefully the worst of the monsoon should be over. My only concern is the impact on possible RTW ticket prices, but this is something I can look into closer to the time.
