But as far as sikkim is concerned, for a week it will take around 10k but again it depends upon how much u spend. Also when you get down at the station, there are many travel agents who will be there and will be charging for the whole trip. So depending upon ur requirement, u can go with the packages available. Sikkim is a very beautiful place so enjoy.. Thanks Tanya_0608 Tanya Deshmukh Post Count: 136 Msg: #5 30 weeks ago, May 26th 2009 | Dear Nicole, please ensure that you have a Inner Line Permit (ILP) before you visit Sikkim - just putting some info here, also available on the net. | Foreigners must obtain Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit Sikkim. These can be obtained from all Indian Missions, Sikkim Tourism Offices at New Delhi, Kolkatta, District Magistrates Office of Darjeeling, Siliguri, and Rangpo on the strength of an Indian Visa. The 15 days duration Permit is issued on the spot without any delay provided photocopies of the passport and visa along with two pass port photos of the applicants are made available. The permissible duration of the stay for foreign tourists is 15 days initially. This can be extended. Some places worth visiting while you are in Sikkim are Aritar Lake (Ghati-Tso), Bakthang Waterfalls and Ban Jhakri Falls and a place called Borong has a hot water spring called Borong Ralong Hot Spring. While you are already in Northern India, I would suggest visiting destinations there, so you dont have to travel too much. Some options would be: Kumaon Region - Bhimtal-Nainital, Ranikhet, Corbett & Binsar Himalayan Path - Leh, Nubra Valley & Pangong Lake The Golden Triangle - Visit Delhi, Agra & Jaipur Himachal - Visit Chandigarh, Panchkula, Manali & Shimla Else, since you are close to Sikkim, you can visit Bhutan [Phuntsholing, Thimphu, Punakha & Paro] or go to Orrissa [Bhubaneshwar, Konark & Puri]. You can also drive down from Sikkim to Darjeeling, its a picturesque hillstation near Himalayas. Number of Users: 3 | Number of Posts: 5 | |||||||||||||
