Personally, I love Chinglish, but had never considered the opinion of Oliver Radtke: "Mr Radtke says the Chinese are increasingly supportive of his efforts, as they have come to understand that he believes Chinglish is in fact enriching the English language. The entire notion of one single, standard version of English is outdated, he says..." Would you be sad to see the demise of Chinglish? Does Chinglish benefit the English language? liliram liliram Post Count: 402 Msg: #2 35 weeks ago, May 8th 2009 | Hey, glad to come across this article. Thanks. Been to Shanghai 2x and in one of my excursions out of the city, i took a train with a big sign that says " Have a harmonious journey"........sounds so much better than "Happy Trip". I enjoyed many other Chinglish signs, of course. Like "pls do not fall into the water", which again is better that a simple "beware". | Number of Users: 2 | Number of Posts: 2 | ||||||||||
