DublinPeter Peter Post Count: 4 Msg: #1 37 weeks ago, April 20th 2009 | Hi, | My name is Peter and I plan to fly into Santiago de Chile in the 2nd week in July before travelling overland through Bolivia, Peru and on into Ecuador from where I think I will be flying home from sometime in mid to late September. My plan is to see a bit of Chile before heading into Bolivia, La Paz and lake Titicaca, before moving on to Peru for some trekking around Cusco. Then north on to Ecuador and maybe Gallapagos and some beach time. Hopefully Ill have time to do plenty more but am a pretty laid back person who is not really into strict timetables. Without having practiced in a long time I speak reasonable Spanish and have travelled around Argentina before. If anyone out there feels they may be interested in meeting up along the way or indeed joining in some of my trip (or having me join in theirs) please give me a shout and maybe we could arrange something. I want to travel to south america this summer, from the begining of July to end of August. I'm mostly interested in Peru and archaeological sites, and I would love to take the time to spend a week or two volunteering on a dig. I'd also like to go to the other countries you mentioned. I don't speak spanish, yet, i start lessons tomorrow! Anyway, get back to me if your interested! -S. DublinPeter Peter Post Count: 4 Msg: #3 35 weeks ago, May 5th 2009 | Hi Supergirl - thanks for the response. | Just so you know a little about me - Im a 32 year old male from Ireland - Ive done a bit of independent travelling before in Thailand and Argentina - a little over a month in both cases. I want to head back to S America as I can communicate with (some!) people there having picked up Spanish when I spent some time working in Spain during my student days - although my lingo is a bit rusty. I havent booked any flights out of Europe yet but I will definitely be in Spain from the first week in July as I intend to head to the running of the bulls at Pamplona. After that I will be spending a couple of months travelling on somewhere/anywhere! The reason I havent been able to book my flights yet is because I am waiting on confirmation from my boss in work about dates etc (the recession is a disaster!). I expect to receive that sometime this week and if the flights have not increased by too much in price I will then book them to S America. If they have gotten too pricy, I am thinking of spending a month walking/hiking the Camino to Santiago before heading to southern Spain and crossing by ferry into Morrocco for three/four weeks of travelling around that country. If you wish to stay in touch with a view to heading to S America, please do so as it is quite possible that I will be firming up dates and flights this week/weekend/early next week. If I go, I will definitely be going to Peru and Bolivia with the rest optional. Alternatively, if that doesnt come to pass and you fancy a trip around North Africa, again by all means keep in touch!
