Doing Parque Lauca coming from Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

I'm travelling through Peru and into Bolivia and down Salar de Uyuni into Chile. Would like to visit Parque Lauca, but i'm not sure i have the time.

How long time is needed/recommended for going from San Pedro de Atacama up to the park and down to Santiago having a few stops on the way. Have anyone done a similar trip? And what are the possibilities of renting a car for the trip (ie. in San Pedro de Atacama) and return it in Santiago?

I hope for some expert advice..
