Itinerary request

First visit to France

I am planning to vist France in August '09 for around 10 days.
Can someone recommend an itinerary for cities to go to in France ? Ideally prefer to do a mix of tourist activities and relaxation.

I would suggest a route from Paris to Nice, with at least 3-4 days in Paris. Something along the lines of Paris - Rouen - Mont st Michel - Bordeaux - Carcassonne (beware the massive crowds though) - Nice. You can check out the details and other popular routes in France here.
