blgerber blgerber Post Count: 12 Msg: #1 305 days ago, January 8th 2009 | Hey Everyone, | I am looking to go on a retreat with my gf from the US. I want a non touristy spot in Mexico where we can get a nice reasonably priced hotel. I love the mountains or the beach. A friend from mexico suggested aguascalientes but i can only find info on the city and not surrounding areas. I would love a place on the water where you can get a nice place away from a big city and eat good mexican food and relax. Let me know if you are aware of such an "ideal" place. It is in the mountains and not so many tourists there. You can also easily get to the surrounding Indian villages on the local vans that take the Indians to and from the market in San Cristobal. They've also got some killer ruins right on the water. Plus you can sip Coronas on the beach for $15 pesos. Not a bad deal. | Puerto Escondido is also an amazing place. So is Cuernavaca. Its dubbed Primavera eterna (Eternal spring) But there is no beach in Cuernavaca. I am sure you can find a lonley spot there to be with your gf. | But if you want to know a lovely and magical town you can go to San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato state. Luiggi Luiggi Post Count: 4 Msg: #6 271 days ago, February 11th 2009 | Try San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato state or Real de Catorce in San Luis Potosi state. | tlacomape Claudia Perez Post Count: 3 Msg: #7 151 days ago, June 11th 2009 | Hey!!! you should try Puerto Vallarta!!!
