Since I'm traveling alone, I'd like to stay somewhere nice - but not romantic where couples and families are staying. Somewhere I can meet people (late 30's like me perhaps?). Any suggestions? I'd also like to take surf lessons if you have any suggestions for that. | Mell Mell Post Count: 13506 Msg: #2 346 days ago, November 27th 2008 | Hello Cathy | You could put a thread in the Looking for Travel Companions Forum to find people to meet up with. I'll try that - I'm new to this site so I appreciate any advice. | C jmsnyc Jeff Sanders Post Count: 3 Msg: #4 128 days ago, July 3rd 2009 | Hi Cathy, | Thinking of hitting CR next month. How was your trip? monksgoneawol Straight from my journal.... Juan (the owner) is great, the kitchens are huge! You could bake a cake in it if you wanted to! It does pull a younger crowd though but is great for meeting people. Casa Zen (before Brunellas, across from Super Compre - all the bus drivers know where it is and will stop) is great too, it has a fantastic Thai restaurant out the front, and yoga lessons available everyday. A bit more chilled out, a lot of character! and does pull a wider range of people. For surfing lessons, Dot at Kina Surf (just before Brunellas on the right hand side) is lovely! I didnt get lessons off her - I stuck it out a week and trialled and error the whole process, but she helped me out with all my surfboard gear and stuff, and gave me heaps of tips! Hope this helps! Enjoy your trip! Michelle monksgoneawol Straight from my journal.... Post Count: 8 Msg: #6 115 days ago, July 17th 2009 | Sorry Cathy, was meant to address to Jeff.
