Topic Type: Help
Hi, we are newly in South America and to the Forum. The advice given looks great and we had a question of our own: We are hoping to take the Devilīs Nose train. We were looking for advice on best way to get from Sibambe to Guayquil. Any suggestions appreciated!

sorry i do not have an answer to the sibambe guayaquil question

but as for the devils nose, make some sandwiches the night before and dont forget sunblock.

when i was on it, it broke down about 5 times (de-railing carriages, which isnt much fun on a steep hill) , ended up being a 10 hour journey. i wasnt too impressed with the scenery either , though maybe the breakdowns just put me in bad humour.

oh, and make sure you are facing to the right. because facing the other way you will see a lot of close up cliffsides while the others will enjoy the valleys.

i know this sounds obvious but - (to help you find which way is right) the front of the train is facing away from the station.

Thanks Matt,

Will definitely get organised for a long trip and get onto the right side.

Cheers!
