It is a bit of a sticker shock isn't it, and that does appear to be a bit steep. When I went to Europe in October, all together including fees from Orbitz my trip flight r/t was $830 USD. Total airfare was $798. I believe the actual ticket price was somewhere around $610. I usually avoid Orbitz like the plague, but I couldn't get within $200 of that price straight through the airlines or anywhere else as of booking. So that was just one tickets fees, taxes, etc etc...
