 yoda jonathan ford Post Count: 4 Msg: #1 955 days ago, January 8th 2006 | hi, my wife and i will be arriving in rome this saturday night (14th january). We are flying into ciampino airport, and our flight is scheduled to land at 11.25 pm. | We have a bit of a problem from here. we need to get to termini station, ( our hotel is situated just outside). the problem is that we checked train schedules and the last train seems to leave the airport station at 12.30 am. our hotel website advertises airport pick-up, but when we enquired about it they said it would be 50 euros one way!! apparently a taxi is 60 euros, which we thought was very expensive for the length of the journey! the question is, should we chance catching the last train, or pay 50 euros for airport pickup? are there any late night buses to termini incase we miss our connection? i would be extremely grateful for any feedback! jonathan  Savage Mark Savage Post Count: 531 Msg: #2 953 days ago, January 11th 2006 | ugh... that's a tough one eh? If you have to book the shuttle, you might want to just try and go with the Train and suck up the 10 Euros if you miss it and go with a Taxi. Not sure how reliable this link is, but it says the Taxi should be 35 Euros from that airport to Rome Center, plus a supplement for luggage. ( the only one i noticed, but at least someone could be arsed to reply!) well, its friday night and we leave 4 pm tomorrow! haven't organised anything for when we arrive in Rome, we just decided to go with the flow when we arrive. (Jayne, my wife, says that her hairdresser reckons that theres a mercedes minibus waits outside the airport and charges 60 euro between however many people he can get to go into the centre of Rome!) Anyway, i'm sure we'll work something out. I'm new to this travel blog thing, but will post a journal of our week when we get back. Thanks also for the pointer about the taxis! | p.s.
