payels payel pramanik Post Count: 2 Msg: #1 69 weeks ago, August 18th 2008 | Hi....I hail from India and have beautiful scenaries of switzerland set in my eyes...thanks to our indian film industry for shooting the most mezmerising locales and presenting them before us!! | Well...the purpose of writing this is to seek suggestion from people belonging to Switzerland or from people who have been to Switzerland for their honeymoon......needless to say that i am also planning for a honeymoon in Switzerland but have loads of concerns regarding the season. Im planning for my honeymoon in the last week of November this year. The main purpose obviously is to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the plains amidst the cosy comfort of the real Swiss culture. I just wanna know if the month of November - December is ideal for a honeymoon in Swiss or not?? Or will it be all covered with snow that we mite not be able to step out of your rooms??? Is the entertainment zone (jungfrao) open during the period? Please gimme a real picture of Switzerland in the Nov-Dec months....i love mountains so switzerland is my priority....also which are the places to visit since i will stay there for around 5 nights. I m expecting special comments from people who have been to their honeymoon in swiss during the winters....please enlighten me....hope Im making a right choice?? November and December are normally months were there is not a lot of snow at all, it is more in January and February. Jungfraujoch should be open all year round. Where are you staying in Switzerland, maybe then I can help little bit more. But there are so many other places...which are just beautiful. hope that helped. Its gonna be 4nights-5days starting around December 1st. After a lot of googling, I found Lucerne as a good destination. Now, I have some questions.. 1) As, I have only searched on internet but i want to get inputs from some of the people that have actually been to lucerne....Is it a good honeymoon destination? 2) Is it snowy in early december? 3)What kind of clothes should i carry along? 4) Are there some veg Indian restaurants in Lucerne? 5) We are planning for a quite honeymoon only at Lucerne, so should i follow up some travel agency in India or its easy to book hotels and rail tickets online? Actually we came to know that these travel agency people take people in bulk and have their own timetables. So, we didn't want all this on our honeymoon. We have a budget of 40k to 50k INR (around 1100 CHF) for hotel stay. 6) I dunno how much the meals cost there. If somebody could give me an idea? 7) I came to know that there is a train journey from Zurich to Lucerne. If i travel in 1st class. How much the round trip costs me? (Is it around 10k INR?) 8) Also i saw on raileurope.com that there is a connecting train in Zurich-Lucerne journey...and the time difference is 8 mins. Is it easy to catch the connecting train within such short time span?? I know these are lots of questions. But I will be very thankful if somebody answers them. Thanks in Advance. But if there are any then please guide me as snow and veg indian food would be the highest priority. Do you like Italian food? If you go to Italian restaurants you should find vegetarian options on the menu. I am also a vegetarian and have no problem in most restaurants with getting good vegetarian options. I would avoid some of the more traditional restaruants in some countries such as Switzerland.
