I'll be traveling to Frankfurt, Germany in Sep 09 and need a place to stay overnight that has shopping and restaurants within walking distance and an airport shuttle.

I'm be jet lagged, but want to be able to walk and stay awake as long as possible before crashing for the night.

Any ideas?

No need for an Airport shuttle in Frankfurt, the rails system is very easy with trips frequently from Airport to the main railway station...I would stay in the Zeil or Altstadt areas...these areas come with food and plenty of shopping. And the Sachsenhausen area just across the bridge to the South is host to a lot of nightspots. Enjoy!

Thank you for the advice. I'll look into those areas. Can you tell me how to find the Zeil and Altstadt areas on a map?

I have fond memories of my first trip to Europe, which I took with my parents and sister in 1991, at age 20. My parents got 15-day Eurail passes for all of us, which allowed us to travel throughout Western Europe by train. We ended up visiting eight countries in just two weeks. It was a great trip, although quite rushed.

Both Zeil and Altstadt are East of the main train station...they show up on Google maps.
