Dear Travelers,

I would like to get some information's about Burma / Vietnam. I will be having 2 weeks off and if i will be able to extend then 3 weeks maxiumum. I need your opinions and suggestions about Burma and Vietnam. Is this duration is enough ?!?!?! let's talk about both 2week and 3 weeks. As I know Vietnam is very modern and i think most of the things will gonna be easy. But i dont have any ideas about Burma?? Can you help me with both ?!

Dont Ask me what i want to see / do .. i enjoy travelling in Asia and see everything :)

Hello Ray :)

Politically speaking rather than comparing what it is like to be in either of the coutries I would choose Vietnam.

Also, it seems to be a bit chaotic in Burma right now because they have not recovered from the the cyclone that happened a few months ago. But likely the government will make sure that tourists are looked after.

Don't forget Burma (Myanmar) is still recovering from their devastating tropical cyclone..... not sure of the conditions of anything at the moment. How the infrastructure is ...

But I personally would choose Myanmar ,leave Vietnam for next time ...I went twenty years ago to Burma and have had friends there a couple of years ago, who felt about it the way I did way back. They have been to Vietnam and preferred Burma.

I believe it is a lot easier to get around than it was 20 years ago, but it should still be an adventure. Inle lake , Pagan, Mandalay...the temples and pagodas, ... The people are buddhists and were/are very gentle, welcoming, hospitable people.

Perhaps the people of Burma are a little like Tibet ...how can they win against the tyranny without violence... ie without becoming like their oppressors?

Hello Mel & Brugle;

Well when i seat and think about it .. Vietnam will gonna be easy to travel and go around & it's in my mind since few years. At the same time, Burma (before the cyclone) to me was always a country that still virign & need to discover it. After the cyclone, Iam just wondering about the transportations, Accomendations, and the most important things for toursit?! Iam sure things has been changed alot after the cyclone.

Thanks for your answers, will wait & see if we can get some recommendations from toursit's who visited Burma after the cyclone. :)

I think they will likely have tidied up the tourist areas of Burma by now. Tourists are only allowed into certain areas in Burma where they get the royal treatment.
