hiya im looking for anybody who has any ideas on the cheapest way to travel from athens to munich... would it be best to go by plane, or is their a bus route? it doesnt matter on the time it takes...

I think that the cheapest way is by train, but also in summertime maybe you must have a look at charter flights, often there is space at the return flight

Hi Raina,
For flights I usually go to harefares.com or skyscanner.net. Finding the really good deals usually depends on how far in advance you book the tickets. The closer you get to the date of travel, the more expensive the flights tend to be with the cheap airlines.

thanks guys, about the train is there any direct route or would there be alot of stuffing around? do you know if australians need visitors visas to pass thru any of the countries between greece and germany??

I don't think that there is direct connection between Athens and Munich (perhaps via Belgrade (SRB) or Sofia (BUL)-Budapest (HUN)), have a look at :

for visas you must contact with the embassies of the countries pass through or your foreign office, I don't know for non EU citizens
