Hi, Does anyone know any other airlines that fly from Siem Reap to Bangkok, I can only seem to find Bangkok airways which is very expensive. We also want to fly from Ho Chi Min to Siem Reap any suggestions.

You could also take the ferry boat from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh and from there fly to Bangkok. The boat ride takes around 4 hours and goes through a lake with some of the largest catfish in the world. Like all tours or long bus rides you go on, have something to snack on and some water plus the obligatory roll of TP and package of WetWipes.

This is just another option. You may have more flight choices from Phnom Penh. When I went to Siem Reap I spent a few days in Phnom Penh first and traveled from that city to the Angkor Wat area.

Good luck.

the prices are very expensive as there is only 1 flight, a thai one, and the thai government pay the cambodian government not to fix the road between siem reap and thailand so people pay the ridiculous price for the flight. U can drive on the crappy road to thailand though. Its actually quite a bit of fun

For Siem Reap to Saigon, you also have Vietnam Airlines, more reasonnable as one way fare are between 150usd and 175 usd...for Bangkok, to Siem Reap, Alistair give good explanation.

hey klynn;

check out airasia:

www.airasia.com

i'm heading to bangkok from cambodia (in about a week & a 1/2) & found a flight that costs $75USD with taxes & service charges.

crappy thing is that the flight leaves from Phnom Penh (but i'll be in Siem Reap) so i have to take the bus back to Phnom Penh.....urgh.....i guess that's what you get for travelling on a budget!

hope that helps.

Travel holic has one point there. It is better to go first to Phnm Penh, the reason is simple. The national museum is in PP. You don't have much in term of sculpture and statutes left inside the temple. So doing the national museum give you a much better idea of what was the place before. Once you are there, see the Palace as well as the S21 school, the place of torture from the Kmer Rouge time, not fun to see, but a true lesson to remember.

And do have a gin tonic at the FCC in Phnom Penh, great place!

Have fun!
