| Bering Strait to Mongolia to Vladivostok | |||||||||||||||
drrebel Rebel Palm Post Count: 1 Msg: #1 160 days ago, August 3rd 2008 | Is there a way to cross from Alaska across the Bering Strait to (I guess) Chutkotchiy (sp?), then on to Mongolia? What would be the best way to do that without joining a tour? say, traveling alone. And visas, what's the deal on visas doing that? My ultimate goal would be to make it down to Vladivostok and get on the Transiberian Railway. | grantcorp Johan Rehn Post Count: 114 Msg: #2 159 days ago, August 3rd 2008 | I think the Russian authorities are very finicky about atypical border crossings, I guess it depends on if there is a regular port of entry in the area you want to visit. It would probably be alot easier to arrange it via a travel agent, since you'll probably still need a letter of invitation. You'd do well to check with your local Russian embassy. | Number of Users: 2 | Number of Posts: 2 | ||||||||||
