Arrive in Cairo, spend 1 day there, do the National Museum and the pyramids. Day 2, fly to Luxor early morning. If you did rrive late in Cairo, this would be your day 3. And it would be better to fly evening time to Luxor. In Luxor, Karnak and Valley of the kings...all this can be done in a single day...you'll be dead evening come... For Luxor to Aswan...drive, you can easily find a taxi, but will be stuck in a convoy. Aswan, spend the afternoon at Philae...relax a few hours, and go back to Philea for the night show. The next morning, you fly early to Abu Simbel, and back straight early afternoon in Cairo....by than, you'll have a great view of Egypt...and will be completely exhausted...but very very happy. Was in Abu Simbel end of July, I've got a blog entry on this. Have fun!
