from KL to Krabi and Phuket

how to go to Krabi and Phuket from Kuala Lumpur

i'm planning a backpacking to Krabi and Phuket at the end of this year
i plan to go there by using train
for my information, there is no train from KL reach these two places
so, anyone has any suggestion for me?
how to go there and where to stay?

airasia from kl. if you book far in advance, which looks doable for you, you should get a pretty good price.
