I have heard of others who have house swapped. If you are interested in swapping your room you could try putting an add in the Classifieds forum of this site. Travel Classifieds | You can also stay in the houses of people in other countries free of charge if you join a site like www.couchsurfing.com In return people would also stay in your room or house when they are in your town. You dont need an extra bedroom or anything. There are people who would be happy to sleep on the floor.
