Elizabeth and Kathleen Travel Journal Post Count: 2 Msg: #1 36 days ago, July 15th 2008 | We want to travel from Rio-->Sao Paolo-->Curtiba-->Iguazu-->Florianopolis-->Porte Alegre-->Montevideo-->Buenos Aires. Is this possible by bus or train? And would you recommend any other destinations in between. We are trying to budget travel and would rather do it the cheapest way possible. Thanks! | hemmi rosa Hermann Runarsson Post Count: 4 Msg: #2 36 days ago, July 16th 2008 | Hi | This is possible with bus. There are not so many trains in Brazil. Rio-Sao Paulo: a lot of bus companys, many departures daily Sao Paulo-Curitiba-Iguazu-Floripa-Porto Alegre: Catarinense(http://www.catarinense.net/pt/) serves these routes and you can see the prices on their website. You can also look at Penha(http://nspenha.locaweb.com.br/) or Pluma(http://www.pluma.com.br/engli/main.htm) but their websites are not as good as the one from Catarinense. There are more companies, these are the ones I have travelled with and I have a good experience with them all. Further south: don't know. The prices are similar with the different companys, they vary a bit between different classes, but in general the buses are quite nice and not so expensive. I have been to the five first places you mention and really like them all. b.r.
