Braden Braden Fox Post Count: 1 Msg: #1 64 days ago, July 6th 2008 | Hello all, | I was wondering if anybody has made the overland journey from Panama to Columbia, and if so, which towns were used and how long it took, any suggestions etc. I understand it\'s not the safest or easiest route, just looking for suggestions as I don\'t have enough money or time for air / private sailboat trips. thanks bigalfromtikal armin porfito Post Count: 5 Msg: #2 62 days ago, July 8th 2008 | have only heard of someone doing it once back in the day with a guide. Planes leave Monday, Wednesday and Friday. From Puerto Obaldia you take a canoe ride(2 hours) to Capurguna, Colombia (about $20usd)where you'll register with The DAS(Colombian Immigration) have your passport stamped. There he can stay a day or two, at the hostel which is nearest the marina on the left hand side. From Capurguna a 75 minute canoe riode into Turbo, Colombia the cost is about 40k colombian pesos about $20usd. In Turbo stay at the Hotel Amiralte about $15k pesos daily.....it's an alright area and in Colombia nobody is going to bother you. NOTE: in Panama City buy about $125 dollars in Colombian Pesos. In Turbo use your debit or credit card at an ATM to get local currency. If your bold and know how to read a compass.....take a bus from Panama City Main terminal to Darien, from Darien you can catch a ride on any of the indian canoes going into Colombia, mainly El Choco, Colombia | [Edited: 21:02 - Boricua ] Number of Users: 3 | Number of Posts: 3 | |||||||||||
