Once you pass Fenwick Island, you will run into Ocean City MD. | For a city by the sea, nothing beats Ocean City MD. So much to see, so little time to see it. I have been a regular to this town for many years and besides the pilgramage to the beach to relax and become mellow with the tranqul sounds of nature's ocean pounding the sand, the baptismal regeneration of the sea as it melts the stress away and you become a new person, serene, happy and at peace with the world after diving into the waves before they crash to the sea. If you like being near a lot of people, Ocean is for you. If you want a more seculded beach, You can find that too in Ocean City MD. For night life, a night with the kids, great seafood, great steaks, golfing, fishing, walking, great snack foods(you have to eat pizza, Thrasher Fries, Dumsers icecream, Candy Kitchen chocolate covered strawberries, Fisher;s caramel popcorn, on the boardwalk) If you like shopping, endless stores are all around Ocean City. If you like rides and adventure, there are multble amusement parks, miniture golf, and boating eadventures to choose from. After Ocean City MD, be sure to check out Asseteague Island and if you still have time, keep on heading south along all the beaches, especially the outer banks, Okacroke Island, Cape Hattares, Kitty Hawk etc. All in all, spend atleat 2-3 days at a minimum in Ocean City as they have the most to do. beachybutt Michelle Post Count: 2 Msg: #22 108 days ago, August 19th 2008 | Well, Dr Beach about said it all and I totally concur! Ocean City has a lot to offer and is by far the best boardwalk town on the Eastern Shore! In additon to all that Dr Beach already mentioned, you have to check out the museum on the end of the inlet pier $3 admission and very historically enjoyable! | OceanChick M.L. In town you'll have the opprtunity to sample great local fare and drinks. The people are contagiously friendly and the scenery is breath-taking! Be sure to stop by Assateague National Park to see the wild ponies! While you're there visit the boardwalk to people-watch. | You can find out more at www.insideoceancity.com. brihar73 Brian Post Count: 2 Msg: #24 99 days ago, August 27th 2008 | So much to see, so little time. New York, New York for the busy lifestyle, arts, food, and always something to do; Ocean City, Maryland for the fun and relaxation; Maimi, Florida for weather and style; San Diego, California also for the weather and relaxation; Seattle, Washington for the culture; the list goes on and on... But those are a few places that first come to mind. | Swissgirl Sandra Post Count: 17 Msg: #25 97 days ago, August 29th 2008 | Ft Lauderdale is beautiful in Florida, Washington D.C. is worth a visit, in California: Monterey, Santa Barbara, up the highway no. 1 from LA to San Franciso, beautiful. | Rook42 Mark Gadomski Post Count: 22 Msg: #26 96 days ago, August 30th 2008 | Don't miss Charleston S.C. | oclocal24 Ashley Post Count: 1 Msg: #27 96 days ago, August 30th 2008 | On your way down the East Coast, I agree with some of the previous posters that you should check out Ocean City, MD if you can fit that into your schedule. Make sure to stop by Seacrets to have a drink and enjoy the scenery! I also recommend a day or two in Baltimore and DC, of course! | Other cool stops on your way down South are Charlottesville, VA, Charleston, SC, and Savannah, GA. Have a great trip! :) Chrissy B Christina Burck Post Count: 2 Msg: #28 93 days ago, September 2nd 2008 | Check out Ocean City, MD ! You can enjoy well with your family. When you on the southern part of your trip to Miami. I would suggest a visit to St. Augustine Fl. located on the northeast coast. People are nicer and traditionally genuine. | ==================================================== Steve <snip> [Edited: 01:03 - Jo Trouble - url removed. The scenery is nothing short of stunning and towns along the way are real time capsules. It is difficult to see all that Silver City has to offer in one day and they have a delightful KOA campground. Don't overlook Glenwood on your drive to Arizona on US 180. | My second suggestion would be Route 66 from a point just west of Ashfork, Arizona to Kingman, Arizona. This a pleasant and scenic drive with lots of history. I have posted a lot of information about both places on my blog - www.route66chronicles.blogspot.com 33 Replies: « back 1 2 next » | Number of Users: 22 | Number of Posts: 33 33 Replies: « back 1 2 next » | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
