Paul,
Yes the home in Cedar City has accommodations for a motor home. If you go onto our site and click on "vacation rentals" you will see them listed as "Executive Home" and the two "Town Homes" . Make sure you also check out Bryce Canyon. If you like to fish there are two lakes Pangtuitch Lake and Navajo Lake that are about 30-40 miles from Cedar City. If you look at a map you will see that Cedar City is centrally located between the two parks. Cedar City is also the home of the Shakespearean and Neil Simon Festivals every summer/fall. So you if you are fan of live theater make sure to take in these activities as well Are going to pull a car with the motor home? Let me know if I can help with anything else....enjoy.

Paul,

I don't have any fantastic places of interest that you may visit, but I have do a word of warning. If you can, please avoid some of the midwestern states that are going through their floods right now: Missouri, Iowa, etc. I just don't want to see you guys as vacationers being put in harm's way. Stay safe and enjoy The United States.

Sincerely,

Ryan M. Rodriguez

I go with Ryan about Yosemite National Park. It's a beautiful place to visit. If you want to see a preview of it check it here: www.mapjack.com/Yosemite I also would recommend Lake Tahoe: www.mapjack.com/LakeTahoe

Good luck on your trip.

Paul,

2 things come to mind....

New York: Visit Yankee Stadium for the last time before they tear it down.

Austin, Texas is awesome! They have their huge music festival Austin City Limits September 26-28.

I agree with David P. Austin is absolutely fun, but only when their is a conference of some sort going on... otherwise, you may be aching to get out. Also, check online for the "weirdest tourist traps in America". I went to Mystery Spot one year and also the Dinosaurs out in the middle of the desert towards Palm Springs, CA. Kinda random, but really funny what people in the middle of no-where will do for tourist dollars.

Thanks very much Guys for all your suggestions. My travel plan is coming together nicely now thanks to your help. What I need more of now is where can I park my motor home if I don’t find an official parking site? Will I be able to just pull up on the road of pull into a car park for the night? Any help with your diving regulations would be great.

Rest stops and KOA's (campsites of America), both have showers and certain necessities that you would need. Also, check out the major truck stops along the interstates... they are mini-cities (something to marvel at)!!!

A great place to visit with lots of friendly people is Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They make you feel like you are their next door neighbor. If you have a chance you might want to check it out. Also here is a website with photos of some of the things that go on in Eureka Springs. www.seeeureka.com

I disagree with cegrmr, I think Austin is better when those festivals are not going on. You can actually get around and get into shows. You also get to meet the real Austinites who are most times more laid back and friendly than the people who flood the city during those festivals.

Joshua,
I agree with your ideals. Maybe because I'm not a local, the (off) season in Austin seems a little stagnant for me. I feel the same as you do, in regards to my old hometown San Francisco. It's way better when no tourists are there. I love the wintertime there. People are nicer and traditionally genuine.
Just understand that my point of view comes from a different scene and background, altogether. And is by no means to be taken from the negative stance.

Sincerely,

I understand and I didn't take it as negative. I guess what I was kinda trying to say is if your there during something like SXSW and don't have a pass then it might be a bit crappy. That is unless you know a local who knows about the free shows and free booze.

When you on the southern part of your trip to Miami. I would suggest a visit to St. Augustine Fl. located on the northeast coast. St. Augustine is the Nations oldest city. There is alot to see and do here. Plenty of history, sightseeing, shopping, and wonderful beaches. There are several campgrounds close to the city and on the beaches. I hope you enjoy your trip.
