Hi, my name is Greg and I love to travel. I haven't been to Africa yet, though, and I'm beginning to think about planning a trip there because I've always wanted to go. I'm not sure which country or countries I want to visit, but I do know that I want to take a safari. I found this website.
http://www.eyesonafrica.net/ that has customized safaris for small groups. I will most likely be traveling with my wife and two of our good friends. It sounds like an interesting idea. Tell me what you think about the idea or if you have ever used that website before. Thanks for your help.

Hi there

Why not go to Kenya: it has everything: beautifull beaches, wildlife, mountains, forest, desert and for all lovely people.

CometoCapeTown
South Africa is a must of course. Cape Town is currently one of the most popular destinations in the world. The range of activities, sites, culture & the moderate climate have made Cape Town a favoured getaway for the worlds elite. Have a look at this site <snip> they provide plenty of general information, as well as bookings for hotels, car hire & tours. Enjoy your trip ;)

Hi Greg,

I've never used that web site myself but when I was in Tanzania I took a safari to Selous game park. It's in the south, so off the crazy/scary/possibly threatening tourist track (everybody goes north to the Serengeti) and I saw everything I wanted to see animal-wise (more in my blog here on this sight, travelblog.org/bloggers/Jacks) . I will say it's about 250 km from the major city of Dar es Salaam and requires a train ride of a teeny tiny plane to get there, a consideration if that kind of thing makes you nervous. Very safe though, and very typical for getting into the bush. They do walking, driving and boat tours, whichever you desire (we did all three). Plus the camp was lovely, the food was delicious, and the staff and owner were unbelievably friendly and accommodating. Tanzania is a very safe and stable country and the people are friendly, a good place to start if you've never been to Africa. Just something to consider. Here's the web site for where I stayed. Safari njema! (have a good trip). Jackie

Hi Greg,

Africa is a must. I agree with CometoCapeTown, South Africa has alot to offer. You also cannot go wrong with Kenya, the Masai Mara is wonderful. I would skip Amboseli, once you have been to the Mara it does not compare. Of course though if you are hiking you would not want to miss Mt. Kilimanjaro. Also, if you visit Kenya you are not that far from Egypt which is truly a wonder. The people in Egypt and Kenya are very friendly and unique. They love sharing their culture.

Have a good trip. Patty
