| Should I hire a car to head south down the coast or use the bus?? | ||||||||||||||||||

I am starting in San Fran and plan to head down the coast to San Diego before returning to San Fran. The Surfliner by Amtrack is absolutely wonderful. It's coastal for the majority and lets you off in Oakland. For a cheaper fare than gas, you can relax and enjoy the scenery all around you.
