Louises Louise van Poppel Post Count: 2 Msg: #1 134 days ago, June 3rd 2008 | So....the good thing about traveling is tasting the food in other cultures.... | Of course France is exceptional. And England's bad reputation is far from the truth nowadays. In the Netherlands they don't seem to support local dishes at their restaurants. In Italy you get too much of everything and I could go on :-) I did look for restaurants in The Netherlands where they serve a typical Dutch dish: stamppot. Here are a two I checked out: Moeders Rozengracht 251, Amsterdam Haesje Claes spuistraat 275, Amsterdam They both were great though a bit pricey. There was a restaurant there, run by a Dutch guy which served it and Heiniken. :D I think, Stamppot is generally considered to be not fancy enough to serve in restaruants.
