I have been reading that China is not issuing multiple entry visas any more. Can anyone confirm or deny this as I am going after my visa next week? This would present me with horrible problems as I took a multiple entry visa into account when planning my trip. I arrive in Hong Kong, but am staying with a friend in Shenzhen. I planned on visiting Hong Kong/Macau most of the time...

I have been trying to read about it on the internet but I can't be sure what is really going on. Some articles suggest that only multiple entry visas requested by foreigners in Hong Kong are denied, while if you ask them in your home country they can still be granted. Others suggest there simply are no more multiple entry visas.

I would like to hear anybody else's experiences

Hello Renaat :)

There are a bunch of visa restrictions until after the Olympic games. Maybe the multiple entry visa will be available again after that.

I used a visa service and I got a 90 day multiple entry visa. I don't know how I got so lucky with all the visa horror stories. My passport has 4 previous China visas in it, so maybe they cut me some slack. I applied from LA in late April and got it back in May. So, I don't know if I'm an exception but I'm in Beijing now with no need to get a new one to stay for the Games.

Hello Spencer :)

Maybe the visa agency pays the Chinese government some of the fee you pay them and that is why agencies have more success with getting the visas than we have when we apply independently. I had the same scene with my Iranian visa. I payed an agent to help and it became easier.
