What is the best credit card for travelling with?
I am looking for something that has zero commission on foreign purchases and zero charge on ATM cash withdrawals.
Are travellers cheques even worth it? I'm surprised anyone uses them nowadays although maybe it;s good as a backup?

A lot of people recommend travelling with a debit card these days.
Maybe somebody who does this will tell us a bit about them. You can withdraw cash at ATMs? Can you use the card to pay for things with in the way you would use a credit card?
I usually carry cash these days because I dont travel for long periods of time these days.

If you are UK based then look at the Nationwide Building Society "Flex Account" & "Credit Card".

The Flex Account is a Debit Card (Instant Payment) which we have used all around the World.

The Credit Card has NO Annual Fee, and has not failed us in a lot of different countries all around the World.

Both have NO Transaction Charges but it is better to use the Flex Account Card for ATM Cash Withdrawals, and so far we have had excellent Exchange Rates for both.

Good luck.

Thanks.
If it's a credit card, don't they charge an ATM withdrawal fee and cash advance? Even debit cards have started doing this... I know they don't charge any fees for direct payments with the card and give you the BoE exchange rate for that day. Reply to this

I don't use the Credit Card for Cash withdrawals, however I do make sure that there are enough funds in the account to cover the withdrawals and credit card expenditure.

I know I forgot to mention that with this building society you can use Online Banking so you could also have a High Interest Savings account and move your money from that as it gives 'Instant Access' with no penalty into your Flex Account to cover cash withdrawals and Credit Card billing. Get a Travel Money card - you load up money on the card, pay no fee or commission (is some ATM fee.)

The card can be replaced if you lose / its stolen and also the company can send you emergency cash until new card gets sent..I think ! check to be sure. But the exchange rates are really good.

Fair FX has great exchange rate and doesn't charge you if you use the card in a different currency as far as I can tell:

Also is TEsco one, Post office etc....
