From the above link.
Dozens of aftershocks have been reported since the quake, which was felt in Beijing, 1,545km (960 miles) away, and the Thai capital Bangkok, 1,800km (1,200 miles) away.

Were you or anyone you know in China during the earth quake?
Were you someplace where you could feel the aftershocks like Bangkok?

Here in Wuhan, China, it depended where you were located. I am working on the outskirts of the main city center. We didn't feel anything in this building but at the large public school across the street, a little shaking was reported. In the main part of the city, people emptied out of shops and offices as a result of the tremors.

I am in Tianjin, felt nothing, but people with stuff hanging noticed some swaying. When we started to get calls about it, it was news to us.

I recommend reliefweb.int for reliable information, its affiliated with the UN to help organize disaster relief.

Thank goodness the 3 Gorges Dam is ok.

Damn. Between this and Nargis...it's a good time to have not been in Asia.

My heart goes out to those affected. I've gotten to the point where I can't even watch the reports about Burma. It's tragic and maddening.

We are living in Chengdu and we definitely felt it along with all the aftershocks ... tonight is our first night back to sleeping inside, but we are without running water. Chengdu was lucky, the surrounding areas were hit much harder. More details on our blog ...

Hi Stephanie and Cody,
hope you guys are ok :-) Based in Shanghai and was at work on the 41st floor when it happened....clearly felt it, door of the office got closed by the quake, and really felt that the tower was moving back anf forth...we were all evacuated through the staircases and learnt about you guys once we were outside...
Getting involved here with the red cross to leverage donation but really hope that the chinese teams on site get as many people out of the rubbles, as fast as possible...tomorrow will be the fourth day after the quake.
