C'mon & let it snow already!!!!!!! I feel like I've been waiting soooo long just to see one measly little flake! Arrgh, what a busy last couple of weeks in London - the British are so keen on having Xmas drinks, that it feels like I barely have a night off to myself anymore! I shouldn't be complaining really, it beats sitting at home! I'd go into more detail but you never know who might be sneaking a peek at my Travel Blog ;-) Last week was Xmas party for a company that I have been fighting to get money owed to us out of for the last 5 months! It was at a swanky hotel in Kensington, with cocktails and champagne put on for all....... I decided to woo up after that, as when I ... read more

Many things have been happening in these last few weeks before we have Christmas break. Lots of dancing, lots of booking (pray for this one please - we don't have a fully booked concert schedule yet), and lots of praying. This past Sunday we had a performance of 5 of the 12 songs from the concert concept we will be doing starting in January. I was only in one of the dances on Sunday because it was a combination of all three concert teams. The dance I had to do is one which requires me to do a backbend, something I had not even attempted to do before I arrived here. Even though the countings flew out of my head when I looked out and saw an audience staring back at me, thankfully I was still ... read more

Including her experiences... Hanging out in Windsor pubs Touring the Queen's residences Visiting the Eton boys Wandering around London & Eating Fish and Chips by the Thames ... among others After some problems with the trains from London and a number of delays, Laura and I made it to the Eton station about 5 minutes before her shift at work was due to start. We sprinted through the streets and she ducked behind the bar just in time. I sat in the pub while she did her shift and met some of her co-workers and regulars, as well as reading magazines and doing some of the crosswords. Towards the end of the evening I went across the road with Graham, the manager of another pub, to see his place. I'd been joking with him about how ... read more

I went with some colleagues on the London Eye for a bit of a Christmas 'do'. It was great fun even tho' I have been on it a couple of times before. What was especially good was that we started our 'flight' in the light, at 1600, and by the time we came down 30 mins later it was just about dark - so we had the best of both worlds! The views were excellent. I have also added in a few photos of the lights in Regent Street, Eros in Piccadilly Circus, and a photo of a Christmas tree in the Marriott Hotel where we went for our champagne afternoon tea after our flight on the eye. I can recommend champagne afternoon tea - very lovely! ... read more

On the 13th of December I went with my host mum to Mou school. We left earlier as the girls in her class were doing their Lucia concert at 8am, it was not as extravagant as the previous nights Lucia, but they did a good job and improved in confidence as they went along. They first performed in front of the younger year levels, then to the yr 7’s, 8’s and 9’s and then in front of the Grade 4’s, 5’s and 6’s. After Recess I went with the year 8 class and the interviewed me about Australian Christmases. I then stayed with them and watched their presentations on Christmases around the world. There was one on USA, two on Australia and One on Christmas in Egypt (which had a shortbread like biscuit with icing sugar ... read more

Well, I said goodbye to Franz Ferdinand and the dogger days of Wien and arrived in Prague early last week... and in this city, I feel like a princess. I feel like I've escaped into another time in a fairy tale... The only moment in my life that I remember that compares to this was when I was 5 years old, and I looked up at Cinderella's castle at Disney World for the very first time... it's simply magical here. Prague is a bohemian wonderland of gothic castles, churches, and underground secrets. There are moments when I feel like I'm lost in one of my brother's dungens and dragons fantasy lands. Even the trees here have eerie shadows that make this paradise seem slightly unreal. I randomly stop and gaze around me in awe, and at ... read more

After about a week in spain, it's almost inevitable that you will develop semi-reverse sleeping patterns. If you sleep in a bit too long, you will finally venture outside at maybe 1:30 or 2pm to find that everything is closed! On discovering that nothing reopens until 5pm, you decide to may as well go and recline on the terrace with a beer until it does. And that's the point of no return. For the rest of the evening you are in a cheerful 'up for anything' mood and as soon as someone suggests going to see some Flamenco or popping out for a bit of Tapas at 11pm, you accept graciously and don't check your watch again til' 3! This has been happening to me every night for the past week, and (not that I'm complaining!) ... read more

Sorry everyone, this is gonna be a very long one, so if you don't want to read all of it I'll sum it up.... It was a great conference and I had a blast in Berlin! =) Now for the rest of you, here are the details... enjoy =)...... After having finally finished writing about the first two days I've realized it's going to be really long. I don't want to have to cut anything out 'cause I'm so excited about what I wrote, so I decided to break it up into a few journal entries so it doesn't look too overwhelming. Skim it if you want, only read parts or if you have a lot of free time read it all. =) Hope you all enjoy.. there will be more coming. (If you want to ... read more
