Its been a long month already and it’s barely a week in, still it’s a big relief to finally have my immediate future secure. I’ve been confirmed to go to the Braemar after my vacation towards the end of August.
Well it’s also coming up on the final week of 8 really long ones in Norway, I love the place but enough is enough, it’s too much, too often I’m afraid, a third straight year has finally taken it’s toll. Perhaps it’s not the time and place, perhaps it’s the passengers? After all five contracts as a photographer pretty much drove me to the point where I never wanted to pick up a camera again, let alone set foot onboard a ship.
I guess you can pretty much see from the images on the blogs posted that the desire, or lack of to take photographs wore off in the end.
Anyways I’m turning 28 in a little under a month, kinda scary eh, well at the same time thinking about it I’ve spent pretty much a third of my life onboard cruise ships, now that’s scary. Still it’s been a blast doing it and although looking back I’d
definitely do certain things differently but I don’t have any regrets overall.
Well things are well and truly underway for the winter, and both Laura and I can’t wait, we’re still adding the details in and I promise I will reveal all of the details but not just yet, not until certain things are finalized.
So where to, lets take it back about a week which was the start of the final week in two months of Norwegian cruising, it’s been a real up and down in terms of the weather, we had 30 degrees and bright sunshine for the last three ports last cruise, in Alesund, Skjolden and Bergen the weather was fantastic.
On the flip side to that it’s been cold, overcast, and even now as we sail from Gudvangen it’s started raining.
It has also been a very trying time and after all this time certain people in certain positions still continue to amaze me. I thought, or used to think that we were all working towards the same goal, trying to achieve a professional image, to create something, which people will want to return to, however it seems those certain people are
all definitely not reading from the same book, let alone the same page! Ah well such is life I guess, it carries on and we move forwards.
Well anyways getting back on point, Norway has thrown everything at us over the last two months and I’ll be back in the middle of August for one last time, well at least for now. The scenery, the lush green trees, the towering, if not slight at times waterfalls, it’s just amazing and everyone should visit once in their lifetime.
I love the place, I fell in love with place way back when I first visited in 2001, and the feelings still exist, it’s such a phenomenal place and I hope the images on the recent blogs show you all just how special a place it is to me, and I hope the images inspire you to come here at some point in your lives.
For now though peace out and take care.
