Friday, April 18th - Leave for Dusseldorf, Germany -- arriving in the morning of April 19th.
Saturday, April 19th - Arrive in Dusseldorf- our coach, with Peter at the wheel, will pick us up and take us to our hotel - The Tulip Inn Riverside -just south of Amsterdam. Dinner at the hotel and a short meeting to discuss the itinerary for the week.
> Sunday, April 20th - Breakfast at the hotel, then on the bus to Keukenhof Gardens. 3 hours to enjoy the Gardens, lunch on your own in the many restaurants on site and then off to Amsterdam to a diamond factory tour. Following the tour we go to a Clog Factory tour, and also a Cheese Factory Tour. Later that evening we are on to Volendam (a pretty harbour village) for a traditional Dutch evening meal.
Monday, April 21st - Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a 3 hour shuffleboard demonstration at the hotel. Lunch at a nearby restaurant and then off to Amsterdam for sightseeing. Each person can choose whether they want to see the museums, go shopping, visit the Anne Frank House, or walk through the Red Light District. We meet back at 6:30 pm for a dinner at the The Sea Palace. Following dinner we will enjoy a candlelight Canal Tour on a privately charted boat. Back to the hotel at midnight.
Tuesday, April 22nd - Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check out and on the bus by 9:30 am. We will drive 3 hours south to the German city of Koln (Cologne). Lunch at the "Das kleine Steakhaus" (http://www.daskleinesteakhaus.de/index.html). Then a 2 hour guided tour of the famous Koln Cathedral.
After the tour we check into our Koln hotel, dinner will be on your own in town. There will be time for shopping and you may take the 1 hour walking tour of the Old Town with our shuffleboard friends, Sebastian and Kirstin Runge.
Wednesday, April 23rd - Breakfast at hotel, then on bus to Boppard, Germany, where we will take a beautiful boat ride on the Rhine River, including lunch on the boat. After lunch short bus ride to Rudesheim (www.rudesheim.de) and take a cable car to the historic 'Niederwald Monument". Short bus ride to Langenselbold and check into the TRYP Hotel Langenselbold, followed by a typical German dinner.
Thursday, April 24th - Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a reception with the Mayor. Just a short bus ride to Frankfurt, lunch in Frankfurt, then a 2 Hour tour of Frankfurt in by Street Car. http://www.ebbelwei-express.com/ Bus Departure for Castle "Ronneburg" (www.burg-ronneburg.de) - tour and dinner in the Knights Hall.
Friday, April 25th - Breakfast at the hotel, Shuffleboard demonstration at the Klosterberghalle from 9-5. Scheduling to assist the shuffleboard will be worked out in 2 hour shifts to allow free time in the city for shopping, sightseeing and visiting with fellow travelers. Back to hotel for dinner and farewell Champagne Party with dancing.
Saturday, April 26th - Coach departure to Dusseldorf Airport and home with wonderful memories of good times and good friends!
