hi everyone
we are sweltering in the roman heat up here in the northern hemisphere. still managing to get around and see all the roman sights of interest though and then duck out of it all around two oclock each day for a siesta. we are told only old people do this! but its pretty good to me! have been to the vatican, the colloseum and lots of other churches, fountains and piazza. have walked past all the posh shops you read about in magazines like prada, gucci, etc. have enjoyed some great italian wine in pavement cafes and even found a bar last night. rome is not known for its bars, but we tracked one down! tomorrow we will head to see the sistine chappel along with the other thousand people who line up each day to do so!, hopefully someone will come along who asks us if we speak english and we can pay to be fast forwarded on a group trip! thankfully this happened to us at the colloseum meaning we watied for 15 minutes instead of 45! which in this heat is no small thing!
