After Stirling, we made our way past the Scottish midlands and through the highlands to Culrain. The jagged small mountains were gorgeous - I think Ross' favorite scenery so far. I think people were realizing why Scotland is my favorite place on earth :). We saw some elk, but had no Scottish Highland cattle sightings just yet. It was really cool to go more North than I had been, and it seemed to just get prettier. Sadly it got dark before we reached our destination for the night: Carbisdale Castle. It truely was the best and neatest hostel I had ever stayed in. I LOVE castles :) :) :). It was so fun to explore the castle that night - through narrow hallways and up and down stairs. The library had many interesting books, some of which were a good laugh. Ross and I ballroom danced in the large study, and that was one of my best memories. :) I felt like a princess. Ross and I decided to wake up early the next morning to go for a hike around the castle (lots of trails) so we could see the area in ldaylight. It was very, very pretty (lake, waterfalls, large pond...), and we even saw some elk (unfortunately couldn't get my camera out fast enough to get a picture). Once we returned, everyone else had awaken and eaten, so we departed for our next stop: The Eilean Donan Castle.
