Photo 1The closest we got to finding Nessie
Well, sadly we did not find Nessie! We sure looked though! Instead, we headed for the Isle of Skye, where we stopped to see a few castles, beautiful scenery, and a ridiculous number of sheep! The drivers spent most of their time avoiding taking one out, as well as evading bikers, busers, etc. while on a single-track road! Next, we toured the Talisker Distillery (yuck, whiskey is icky!) and it was pretty interesting.
Then, we traveled by car ferry back to the mainland. We drove to Oban with a quick stop in Glencoe, where we walked around to look at the pretty mountains and such. In Oban, we spent a LONG day touring Staffa, Iona, and Mull. We awoke at 6:30 to catch the 7:30 ferry to Mull. On Mull, our tour guide, David, drove us around the scary, scary roads and pretty, pretty scenery to our next ferry. We hitched a ride on a little boat to Staffa, where we saw Fingal's Cave and a few puffins from far away. Too far away for my liking! Jenae' and I really wanted to bring one home, but Mom said we'd have issues in customs! Then, we took the same boat

to Iona and along the ride, we saw a seal, porpoises, and a basking shark (Yikes!!). On Iona, we toured the Abbey and learned quite a bit about the history of Christianity. Finally, we headed back to Mull and toured the rest of the island with David. It was quite a day!
Next, we'll head to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. We miss everyone bunches, but we'll be home in a few days with plenty of stories and pictures! Love you all!
Love,
Merf and Mom
