eating off a pillow on my lap We departed last night for a 6 hour flight to Amsterdam. The flight was okay, but very cramped. I've decided the next time I fly more than 5 hours, I'm paying extra to fly upper class and have leg room. The lady in front of me insisted on putting her seat back as far as possible, then got annoyed when she couldn't put it back further. She said excuse me 3 times while shoving the seat into my knees, and I responded each time that she couldn't go back into my knees any further. A pillow crammed between my knees and the chair added a small amount of comfort. We were served dinner at midnight, my pasta was quite tasty but I didn't eat anything else as I had ate in the airport earlier. I ate dinner with my feet on top of my carry-on after rescuing it from the other side of the plane where it got moved and the tray on top of the pillow as it was impossible for me to put my tray down because of the lady in front of me. It made me quite miserable though, try as I might to cheer up. I managed

Breakfast in Amsterdam a couple of hours sleep on the plane and watched an episode of Big Bang Theory (there was only one available) and X-Men: First Class which I got bored with.
We stopped in Amsterdam for 3 hours. They offer short tours while you have a layover, which I would have loved to do but they didn't depart at the right time. We stopped for breakfast and I picked out "Original Dutch Vlaflip" which was basically custard, plain yogut and redcurrants. It was pretty tasty. We also shared Poffertjes, which are mini-pancakes. Right near our table was a display of Bols Liqueurs, including the mysterious Parfait d'Amour, which I had heard of but discovered not for purchase at the LCBO. Unfortunately it wasn't available at the liquer shop at the airport either, so now it is my mission to find a bottle of Parfait Amour and find out what's so mysterious about it...that is, assuming a bottle doesn't cost too many £. I picked up a shotglass in one of the many shops and shortly after we headed to Edinburgh. The plane was quite nice, much more roomy and comfortable then the one we were on overseas. It was an

Poffertjes or Dutch mini pancakes hour and a half flight and I slept for an hour of it.
We checked in to our cute hotel and then went to a fantastic pub for dinner, where we shared deep fried brie and I had the haddock and chips. I'd never had brie before, it was tasty. The haddock and chips however, were the best I'd ever had. After that, we walked back through New Edinburgh and called it an early night. Tomorrow we embark on a Hop on/hop off tour of the city. After that, we're off on a 3 day tour. I will probably post again tomorrow and then maybe on the tour depending if the hotel we stay at has wifi.
