Happy Easter!!

I know most of you wont get this till after you enjoy your Easter Holidays, but I thought I would write it now and attempt tp upload some photos of Ireland and Scotland.

I have just finished a three day Highland Tour of Scotland. I had the most amazing weather on my tour, I cant actually believe Im in Scotland! The tour started in Edinburgh and went up through the lowlands and into the Highlands before we arrived at Port Augustas which was where we stayed both nights. We had two tour guides both from Scotland (one from the borders and the other from just outside Glasgow). The tour was a lot different from the one I did through Europe. We spent the majority of the time on the bus, having a look at the scenery from there. When we did stop it was to look at the scenery! So it wasnt as action packed as the first tour. The guides spent the majority of the time telling the most inappropriate jokes. I spent the majority of the time in tears from laughing so hard. Inbetween the jokes the guides were telling us about the history of the highlands. Most of this history was about William Wallace (Braveheart) and the Jacobites. Our first stop was the William Wallace memorial. As I havent seen Braveheart I didnt really understand half of the jokes about Mel Gibson and his horrible Scotish accent. The only way to describe this tour was fat camp. I certainly wasnt prepared for the hiking we did over the three days. On the second day I ws tempted to murder the guides after making us climb a mountain (the views at the top were amazing!).

The second day of the tour was spent on the Isle of Skye. Only one way to describe the Isle is Breathtaking. The weather was fantastic, it was a little hazy but apart from that it was blue skies and the no wind. The Loch's on the Isle looked like glass. The pictures I took dont do it justice. Whilst on the Isle the guides told us about the clans that lived on the Isle and the battles that took place. Like Ireland they have myths and legends that dominate thier history. Mostly this is related to the fairies which live on the Isle. Whether or not you believe

in Fairies the stories they told were pretty interesting.

Yesterday (Last day on the tour) was spent driving back from the Highlands to Edinburgh. Our first stop was Loch Ness. The guides made us do a dance which is meant to invite Nessie out of the Loch to greet us. No photos were allowed to be taken (which is a good thing) but the dance was unsuccessful and Nessie didnt show. After visiting the Loch we went to the final battle field between England and the Jacobites. 2500 Jacobites were killed and only 50 England soliders died.

The tour only had 9 Australians on it, the rest of the group consisted of people from New Zealand, America, and Asia. Was good to meet people other than Australians, however to be honest I spent the majority of the time socialising with the Aussies!

We made it back to Edinburgh at 6pm, and I took the bus back to Fiona's house. I slept for 12 hours straight last night! Today I didnt do a whole lot. went for a 2 hour walk around Edinburgh. I would have to say that after spending time in alot of cities over the

last 6 weeks, Edinburgh is still my favourite. It is a really special city which I love. If you ever get a chance you have to come here.

I have spent the last 3 hours planning and booking the next 5 weeks of my trip. I leave Edinburgh next Tuesday and fly to Nice. I have 4 nights in Nice and then im flying to Malaga in Spain. I am meeting up with two girls who I met on my first Topdeck tour and we are going to stay at a resort in a small town of Torremolinos for 7 nights. Then I will have 2 weeks by myself to travel around Spain, stopping at Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid and Granada, before making my way to Portugal where I am meeting my Uncle for 9 nights in a resort in Faro. Got to say I love my life right now 😊

Ok thats all from me. Ill try to upload photos now. Hope the Easter bunny came to everyone. B
