Charlotte, Mike, Kat and Alan ringing in the New Year
Hi all,

Hope everyone had a good holiday. Ours continues. It’s nice not to have to go back to work.

Had a great time in Halifax and Toronto with Mike’s family. Thanks to Ben and Jen for putting us up.

It’s been a steady stream of Charlotte’s family and friends upon arrival in Glasgow. Everyone’s been quite concerned about our plans for Thailand since the tsunami hit. It’s certainly been on our minds as well. Every day seems a little worse making it harder for everyone. We’ve been thinking very hard about doing some volunteer work. Looking for ways to help out.

So, for the moment, the plan remains unchanged. Thursday we’ll drive from Glasgow down to Brighton. Looking forward to a good curry and a pub night there. We fly out to Bangkok on Saturday the 8th. We’ll be there for a few days and figure out where to go. We’ll also see what work opportunities there are. But, like everyone else, we’re a little unsure as to what the right thing to do is. So keep an eye on the blog to find out where the adventure leads.

A year off with no job, kids or mortgage. Just towering backpacks and each other. Where to? Southeast Asia sounds like a good place. But first we'll cross Canada from our home in Vancouver to Halifax. We'll make sure Elli the cat has a nice place to stay. Then it's on to Toronto for Xmas and Glasgow, Scotland for New Year. With aching livers we'll hit Bangkok on January 9th. From there? We'll let you know. Visit often.... full info

Happy New Year...Hogmanay!?
Mike and Charlotte, I'm so glad that you've had a nice holiday with your family and friends. Sorry that I wasn't able to see you before you left, thank you for the note that was left in my mail box Miss Lottie. We'll have to have a big party when you return I've been worried not knowing if you had left yet and hearing about the Tsunami. I can't imagine the devastation there. I've only seen snipits on the television. Please continue to keep everyone posted on your travel plans, I think this travel log is awesome. Wishing you both health and happiness this new year and always! Lisa King - Lisa King
