I'll keep this brief, since I'm sleepy.
I love Scotland. am I Scottish?? Mom, Dad; can you remind me if I have any Scottish in me?? what else?? the rest of you Scottish peeps, remind me of your clan names and I'll see if can find anything for ya.
I've felt so at peace and happy since I crossed the (non-existent) border. I really enjoyed England but have felt so at home and comfortable in Scotland. i thought Aussies were friendly, but Scots take the cake for just being the nicest people ever!
today we drove through the Highlands as it snowed and was still sunny. It was amazing. Alicen couldn't stop from crying as we drove...it was really beautiful.
we're in Inverness now, the Capital of the Highlands, which is only a few minutes drive from Loch ness, which we're vising tomorrow morning, which is totally and fully and completely awesome. When I was in the 5th grade I checked out this one book from the library about 15 t9mes that was all about aliens and bigfoot and the loch ness monster, so this is fun :)
i have to say though, that Alicen and i have both officially reached the stage where we're really excited to get home eventually...still about a month and a half to go and we are stoked to explore Europe, but getting home and seeing everyone sounds great!
we started finally planning our europe route and, very sadly, realized we had to cut Athens out of our plans....it's just too far from everywhere else...totally lame...Greece would have been so great...but we'll try to make up for it with a little extra time in italy...
so now we're thinking we'll be able to visit, after the British isles; Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Geneva, and a small town in Germany where Alicen's mom's former German exchange student, Diana, is currently living, and possibly Brussels before coming back to London to catch our flight to LA. it'll be busy, but really great!
so, tomorrow we go prove to the world that the Loch Ness Monster exists, then have some lunch, then off to the next location!

Dianna is sooooooo excited about your visit!!!!! I hope you make it there to see her. Say Hello to Sunny (the cat) for me! I'm so glad that Alicen is getting to see Scotland. It is the only place to which I have ever had a desire to travel. All of my children have Scottish blood. It sounds like the visit is warming your hearts and satisfying your souls. Love, Mom
Hi you two -- I'm so glad you're enjoying Scotland. I totally agree that the people there are super friendly, but you ain't seen nothing yet. Wait until Ireland. They were, by far, the friendliest people I've ever met. I hope you enjoy Paris. I just got back from there on the 25th. You've got to go see Sacre Coeur...the stairs to get there will kill you, but the view is totally worth it (and the church is beautiful too). Look after Jen, Matt and the Kiddos for us.
