Och Aye the Noo (and all that gibberish) from Bonnie Scotland,
OK, we know what you're thinking.
India, definitely. Pakistan, possibly. Vietnam, maybe. But Scotland!!! Why on earth would two sane people with most of their faculties still in tact want to go to Scotland?
Well, we figured that if we were going to visit all these exotic locations in Asia, Scotland would be an ideal testing ground. Firstly, the food is foreign (Haggis, Nepes and Tatties), secondly, the mountain roads are full of potholes and thirdly, nobody can understand a bloody word the locals say.
Our only hope is, that getting a hotel room in India is easier than getting one in Inverness. The whole town seems to be full despite the fact that nothing is happening and we had to spend our first 3 nights in a village called Dores, which stands about 8 miles away on the shore of Loch Ness. We have now moved to a hotel in Dingwall, a pleasant town from which we can explore the Highlands and Islands.
We have already ventured as far north as Durness and as far east as Aberdeen. taking in the Cairngorms on the
way. We also made it up to John O'Groats and will be spending a fortune to cross the new toll bridge to Skye later this week.
Sod the holiday. What's happening on the property front, we hear you ask?
Well, since our last journal, we have moved out of 12 Seal Road and prior to heading up to Scotland, have been staying in Bexhill with Jim (Mike's Step-father).
We decided not to go ahead with the purchase of either of the two properties we were interested in for various reasons but have since put in an offer on a flat in the Sackville Apartments building on Bexhill sea front. We are pleased to report that we have just heard in the last half hour that contracts have been exchanged and we are the proud owners of said property.
We have now only two more jabs to endure. Our visas for India and Pakistan have been arranged which was a lot less hassle than we imagined and we have now got our flight tickets for Wednesday 9th August when we will be heading to that well known tourist hot-spot, Islamabad.
Hope everyone is well.
Until
next time.
Mike and Jo

Good luck in Islamabad (bit like Tottenham Court Road on a hot day) and don't forget that there's always that trendy Bexhill to come back to - but only if you really have to !!!
Your Blog is the only thing I have ever been able to use to get Bill to climb up to the top of the house to the computer. He cries with laughter. Keep them coming!
